Terms of use
The plain-language terms for the Texas Eats app and this website. Last updated 2026-10-21.
What the app is
Texas Eats is a free guide to restaurants in Texas. It is provided as is, for personal use, without charge and without warranties of any kind.
Check before you go
Restaurants open, close, change their hours and change their menus, and many barbecue joints sell out early. Dishes and founding years are what each place or a named source said when we checked in fall 2026. We work to keep the lists right, but we can't promise that any listing is current or complete. Call the restaurant before you make the trip.
Inspection scores and public records
The app and this site show the inspection scores Austin Public Health, the City of El Paso and the City of Arlington publish, each with the city's own band or grade and its date. Texas has no statewide grade, and we compute none. An inspection is a snapshot of one day. Alcohol licenses come from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission's license list, and bar sales are the receipts Mixed Beverage permit holders report to the Texas Comptroller. For official records, use each agency's own site (TABC's public inquiry).
Other people's content
Ratings, reviews, hours and photos in each place card come from Apple Maps and are Apple's and its providers', under Apple's terms. Restaurant names and trademarks belong to their owners. MICHELIN and the MICHELIN Guide are trademarks of Michelin; James Beard Foundation and James Beard Award are trademarks of the James Beard Foundation. Texas Eats is not affiliated with any restaurant, chain, award body or government agency.
